I have just read about a new service being offered by one of the largest mail order catalogue companies in the UK, Grattan.
They intend to offer Botox Injections by mail order. Wow, this means you can just flick through your catalogue, and whilst looking for some to wear at that part in 3 weeks time, you can also check out the best Botox deals, and maybe get a 2 for 1 offer. How cool is that? Botox through your letterbox!
But seriously folks, how dangerous does it really sound. Can you imagine the backlash if the Botox got into the wrong hands. Maybe being used by children, or over used by some women, or even men. I think it is a very risky avenue to go down for this company, but I presume they have researched the risks very carefully. If you are unsure of the side effects you should consult your own doctor, but in the main Botox is considered to be reasonably safe to use unless you have any obvious allergies or existing skin conditions or infections. No doubt the catalogue company will print a disclaimer on the Botox packaging advising they accept no responsibility of any side effects you encounter by using their product. If this is the case, then be warned you may have no comeback if you do fall ill after treatment. Grattan are also going to offer other cosmetic treatment such as lip enhancements and skin peels. No wonder cosmetic surgeons have expressed their concern.
Grattan claim all customers who purchase from them will get a consultation, but how could they possibly cope with the potential demand? Just remember, always check and check again with your doctor before embarking on any cosmetic treatment.
